Can bad breath affect your happiness?

Bad breath has often been considered one of the top health faux pas and now new research has suggested that doing away with halitosis can dramatically increase your happiness.

A new study, published in the International Journal of Dental Hygiene, looked at the impact of bad breath in relation to people's quality of life and found that, on average, people who suffered from bad breath were found to be twice as unhappy1 as those who didn't.

By questioning people on specific aspects of their day-to-day lives, the study uncovered those with bad breath had 500% more negative experiences than those with fresh breath.

Ban on smoking in cars ‘significant step’ for children’s oral health

From Thursday [1 October 2015], smoking in vehicles with anyone under the age of 18 will become illegal in England and Wales - a move which will have a profound effect on children's oral health - according to the UK's leading dental charity.
The British Dental Health Foundation has previously highlighted how passive smoking puts children at higher risk1from tooth decay and problems with their oral health development.
The charity believes this move will have a hugely positive effect in protecting children and young people to the extreme dangers of inhaling second hand smoke.

Oral Hygiene is very important

Even if you maintain a regular oral hygiene routine with brushing and flossing, potential problems can still arise that only a professional can spot.

At our Liverpool Dental Practice we have an expert team will not only give you a thorough and complete oral examination but will also screen you for oral cancer as standard. We recommend that our patients should come for a thorough examination every 3 to 6 months. Regular appointments ensure that any problems that may arise are treated as early as possible to avoid any unnecessary future discomfort. Our expert team consists of three highly skilled dental hygienists.
