Invisalign at our Cosmetic Dentist

If you want to straighten your smile but don’t feel comfortable having to wear unappealing metal braces, Invisalign at our Cosmetic Dentist Liverpool provides the perfect solution.  And of course you will not have to wait for long NHS waiting times.  With Invisalign retainers you can see a marked difference in your smile in just 3 months.

Your Invisalign treatment consists of a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks for the next set of aligners. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your Private Dentist in Liverpool.

Safe and successful Tooth Whitening at our Cosmetic Dentist in Liverpool

Following an increasing trend for teeth whitening procedures in the UK leading oral health charity, the Oral Health Foundation, is highlighting the serious risks that consumers are taking by opting for illegal and unsafe whitening treatment.

Research by the charity found that one in four people (28 per cent) would not go to the dentist for their tooth whitening treatment and rather purchase potentially unsafe home kits over the internet or visit illegal beauticians and kiosks instead.

As the tooth whitening industry is fast becoming one of the major growth industries in cosmetic and dental procedures the charity wants to alert the public to the potentially life changing health risks unscrupulous traders are exposing them to.

Don't let Halloween be too frightening for your teeth

What holiday causes concern to your Liverpool Dental practice? Halloween. Although it's a time for shrieks, costumes and lots of candy, this haunted holiday can wreak havoc on your kids' (and your) teeth. But it doesn't have to. Avoid an unnecessary trip to your Liverpool Dentist by following some easy guidelines and potentially avoiding damage to your teeth.

Choose your Halloween treats wisely.  Some treats are worse than others with respect to the health of your teeth. If you and your family are trick or treating this Halloween inspect the loot on your return home.  Remove sweets and toffees that can become lodged in your teeth making them difficult to remove and therefore potentially causing tooth decay more easily.

Dental Veneers at our Cosmetic Dentist in Liverpool

Dental veneers are used to improve the appearance of a tooth. If a tooth is discoloured, a veneer can be used to improve the colour.

A veneer is a thin layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect a damage to a tooth's surface.

Veneers can also be used to improve the shape of chipped or broken teeth as well as to improve the position of a tooth that is slightly out of position – i.e. to close any gaps. They are generally made from a thin layer of porcelain, and fit over the front surface of a tooth. The advantages of veneers are that they restore discoloured, chipped or out of line teeth to their true glory, giving you a healthy and natural smile.

Stress and anxiety can cause damage to your teeth

It's no secret that stress can take its toll on your health.

But a Newcastle dentist has warned of a less commonly known side effect - the damage it could be doing to your teeth.

Last month Hollywood star Demi Moore admitted losing two pearly whites due to anxiety.

And Dr Rob Wain, of Newcastle-based Dovetail Bespoke Dental Solutions, says the star’s story is more common than people might think.

The expert has revealed how he sees signs of stress-related teeth problems “every single day”, and warned about the worryingly common signs your hectic life is taking its toll on your teeth.
