We are supporting the fight against sugar

The number of primary school children admitted to hospital with rotting teeth has reached record levels.

There was a 20 per cent rise in admissions last year, Government data reveals, and dental decay is now the most likely cause of a stay in hospital for children aged 10 and under.

At least two thirds of the 62,000 admissions last year are estimated to be due to tooth decay or gum disease.

Many children are admitted for multiple extractions and experts say a lack of access to dentistry and an increase in the consumption of sugary food and drink is largely to blame.

Safe and Effective Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening can lighten the shade of your natural teeth, but before you commit to having treatment it’s important that you’re fully aware of what to expect, what the risks are and who is allowed to carry it out.
Tooth whitening is the practice of dentistry. By law, dentistry must only be carried out by dental professionals.
Our Private dental practice in Liverpool will  assess you before carrying out tooth whitening to confirm whether treatment would be right for you.

Invisalign Teeth Straightening is available at our Private Dentist in Liverpool

If you want to straighten your smile but don’t feel comfortable having to wear unappealing metal braces, Invisalign at our Liverpool Dental Practice provides the perfect solution.

Your Invisalign treatment consists of a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks for the next set of aligners. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your Dental Practice in Liverpool.

Statistics from Cancer Research UK show the number of people diagnosed with mouth cancer have soared by a third

Until now, smoking and excessive alcohol use have been associated with the disease, however, experts now say that it is HPV, which can be transferred through oral sex, that is largely responsible for the growing number of mouth cancers in the UK.

Every year more than 6,500 Brits are diagnosed with mouth cancer, with the disease taking in excess of 2,000 lives - more than testicular and cervical cancer combined.

Mouth cancer is one of the fastest increasing cancers and, with health leaders predicting that HPV will soon become the major cause of the disease; campaigners are calling for greater education about the sexually-transmitted disease.
